Egg Drop is a highly engaging student activity that gets students thinking and creating together.
This Powerpoint file is based on the book “Egg Drop” by Mini Gray. Students participate in some predicting and discussions about the book before you announce that they will be designing their own device to protect an egg from a fall.
Two handouts are included as PDFs to guide students through the process of predicting, explaining, observing and finally explaining their results.
You provide the eggs and a selection of materials for students to use, and let the fun begin! In the past I have used a variety of cardboard, plastic, styrofoam, and paper as well as letting students bring materials from home.
