Have you had your spring break yet? Are you are just trying to MAKE it to your break!! We have all been there…I am actually there right now. My students are extra chatty and procedures are taking longer than normal. I need needed to spruce up my classroom incentives to survive the next two weeks. Just because something has been working all year doesn’t mean it students are bored with it and need something new to work towards. It is best to always keep students on their toes and not sure what to expect next! Also, I am all about fun and engaging ways to manage my classroom.
I love Easter eggs! I have quite a collection for my classroom and each year try to figure out a different way to use them. This year I decided that I was going to use them for behavior. I chose about 30 eggs and filled some with small Easter treats like mini erasers, bouncy balls, candy, tickets to our school store, gum passes and pencil passes. I also printed egg tickets on colored paper. As I saw students following procedures, working extra hard or being a good classmate students received an egg ticket. Once the tickets are handed to them, they are responsible for the tickets and I do not replace tickets. They keep collecting until they reach five. Once they have five tickets, they can return all five tickets for an egg with a prize. There is no limit to how many tickets and eggs students can earn. Students are excited to find out what is inside their eggs and work hard to earn their tickets.
