"We are on a mission to bring more interactivity to the history classroom by getting students out of the desk to play with the lesson." All you need is a data projector, computer with the Flash Player, and a screen or smart board.
A review of the main gods of Ancient Egypt. Pause and Go buttons make it easy for a teacher to stop and add important points in the lesson as well as promote more discussion to the terms of the lesson.
Then, play the match game as a way to test what you have learned. This match game lets students click on the image and then match that selection with the correct definition using another click. Students receive feedback as to whether the guess is right or wrong. If the two selections are correct the selected pair disappears and their score increases. At the end of the game students get a score and a time for the activity. This activity allows students to get out of their desks and can promote the learning process with competition (Can anyone in the room beat this score or time?) Try it with pairs of students and let one of them be the spotter and the other one be the clicker. Or let the girls challenge the boys. This activity works well on the smart board or any projected computer screen.
Terms include : Osiris, Anubis, Horus, Ankh, Scarab, Eye of Horus or Wedjat, Isis, Seth, Thoth, Hathor, Sobek, Re or Ra, Ptah, Amon, and Ma'at.
