Little Rock 9 Crisis Reading & Interactive Notebook

This excellent Civil Rights Movement resource features a primary source excerpt from President Dwight Eisenhower's speech on the Little Rick Central High School crisis when the "Little Rock Nine" attempted to go to school in 1957. Also included is a reading comprehension worksheet and Interactive Notebook page for your students to use based on the reading!

The 1 page reading includes an introduction describing the background leading up to the crisis and an excerpt from Eisenhower's address. A link is also provided to watch the complete speech on Youtube.

The worksheet features questions designed to get your students to think critically about the event and speech. A key for this is included for your convenience.

Finally, the Interactive Notebook page has students analyzing the perspectives of 6 people/groups on the events at Little Rock Central High School.
