Product Description
Need a quick alphabet review or an end of year project? Do an alphabet review with this 50 minute lesson plan (Option B). Each student gets one letter page of the alphabet which includes a pronunciation guide. Each student draws picture and writes three sentences about the picture drawn. Student presentations of their pictures are followed by silent reading time as alphabet pages are passed around the room. Teacher finishes up with questions over what students have written about their pictures.

For an end of year project, (Option A), students complete this book by “scrapbooking” with their own choice of personal photos, colorful magazine pictures, computer images and some of their own drawings. In addition, students will enjoy writing about what interests them. It’s a keeper!

It includes a pronunciation guide for each letter of the alphabet, an index listing vocabulary for each letter and instruction sheets for teacher and students. Two sample pages, the butterfly and the dog, give students a good idea of selecting interesting pictures for their book.

The armadillo picture for letter “A” serves as the model for writing activities. It’s teacher’s choice of three of six writing activities that focus on basic Spanish I grammar concepts.

Es un armadillo. (ser + indefinite article)
El armadillo es viejo. Hoy está triste. (ser vs. estar)
Creo que el armadillo es de Texas. (creo que/es de)
El armadillo camina lentamente. (verbs)
¿Dónde vive el armadillo? (interrogatives)
¡Qué cansado! Tiene que tomar más siestas. (exclamations + tener que)

"El Alfabeto y el Armadillo" is a fun way to start and continue your year or save it for the end of lst year for a review and a change of pace for the last week of school. You can also include it in your exploratory curriculum.
