Product Description
This is an entire weekly unit on El Cafe - drinks and desserts (check out our other week "El restaurante" for more food!). It contains vocabulary, a project writing a story, grammar (2 verbs - conjugated + infinitive with pronouns), practice listening and speaking activities, multiple quizzes, and an "advanced activity". The advanced activity is instructions on how to make the traditional Spanish dish, torrijas (in Spanish of course)! :)

Included:
- vocabulary list - with 26 vocabulary words and grammar points
- song lyrics (goes with song: "Jugo de naranja" - video on YouTube)
- powerpoint - with pictures of vocabulary words for practice and bellwork activities
- "El hombre en el cafe" - a listening activity
- Practice with "que" and "isimo" - filling in a comic with own lines
- grammar lesson and practice - Two verbs (infinite + conjugated verb) with pronouns ("I want to drink it" - "Yo lo quiero beber")
- project - write a story based off a picture (have partner read and summarize)
- reading and grammar quiz: there are 3 quizzes included - (1) Basic reading and grammar quiz (2) listening, reading, and grammar quiz (3) version "B" of listening, reading, and grammar quiz
*- advanced assignment - an independent activity to challenge strong students (Recipe instructions for torrijas - traditional Spanish dish)

Rubrics:
- Each quiz has a rubric at the bottom
- In our class, if a student gets 100% correct on the quiz, he or she receives a B (proficient). The student must complete the advanced assignment in order to get an A. This may seem confusing, but works very well in our classes for differentiation. Feel free to adapt the grading for what is best for your class, though. :)

*The advanced assignment is great for subs or if you need to work with small groups/individual students as it is fully self-directed and builds off what students have already learned with the rest of the unit
