Product Description
This is a puzzle that gives the students a chance to see how well they know their Valentine's Day vocabulary! There are 4 puzzle options ranging from easy to difficult. The easiest is a 3x3 square which has 2 versions. The second is a 4x4 square which has 2 versions.
The varying levels of difficulty helps to differentiate instruction when using this product in a multi-learning-level classroom. This type of activity helps students with the skill of problem solving. The vocabulary words I have included are:
bonita beautiful
cúpido cupid
el amor prohibido forbidden love
el catorce the 14th
el corazón heart
eres mi todo you´re my everything
eres romántico you´re romantic

febrero February

la flecha arrow
las flores flowers
las rosas roses
linda cutie
los chocolates chocolate
los dulces sweets / candies
mi amor my love
mi cariño my dearest
novia girlfriend

te extraño I miss you
te quiero I love you
tú eres para mi You´re for me
un abrazo a hug
un beso a kiss
una canción de amor love song
una tarjeta a card
yo soy para ti I´m for you

I use this puzzle as a race and the top 3 finishers win prizes. The puzzle must be printed, cut out and the pieces placed into sandwich baggies before they can complete the puzzle, so there is some preparation time required.
I usually make 3 of each level puzzle and I just keep swapping the levels of difficulty and versions as the students finish and want more of a challenge.
When I am in a rush, and I don't have time to cut the puzzles out myself, I cut one page of each puzzle, paste each puzzle on its own separate sheet with the pieces out of order, and copy that sheet. I then require the students to cut out the pieces before they can assemble them in the correct order. This saves a lot of time when I'm in a pinch.
