This interactive dialogue worksheet will allow your students to learn all the key phrases they need to practice a doctor visit. It is essential to be able to communicate symptoms correctly to be able to get the correct treatment. It is a great tool to have students work in small groups creating skits and having fun practicing using Spanish in a school setting with their classroom friends.
1. Talk to students about the purpose of the vocabulary sheets. they will be working on skits for their doctor visit
2- Review Body Parts- Using the vocabulary sheet "El Cuerpo" you can review body parts. This handout can be cut out and glued to their Spanish Notebook. Great reference sheet.
3- El Doctor- Challenge students to label the doctor without looking at their vocabulary page. This step is a great way to understand the script vocabulary pages. Introduce the verb - doler ( and sentir- to feel . Another Great Interactive Notebook Page.
4- Distribute the first script statements handout to the class. Students using their dictionary and other resources will fill as many blanks as possible. (5-10 minutes)
5. Review the first script worksheet with class. Point out cognates to class for easier vocabulary management ( 5-10 minutes). Body parts should be easy to figure our using "El Cuerpo" as a reference sheet.
6. Repeat steps 4-5 with second worksheet.
5. Split students into small groups. They need to create a dialogue. According to your class set-up a minimum number of lines in the skit. A dialogue with 20 lines can be performed in 5 minutes.
6- Presentations need to be ready the following classes. Encourage them to substitute body parts in existing statements. Students should make skits funny entertaining and above all to have FUN!!!
