El Libro de la Vida is the perfect film to use while teaching about the Day of the Dead or bullfighting. It can also be used as a stand alone unit! You will be able to use this film guide for at least two weeks worth of plans. I have used it after teaching "Bianca Nieves y los siete toritos" by Carrie Toth AND as an entire unit for the elective class of Culture and Civilization to dive into many products, perspectives and practices of Mexican culture! This unit also includes 4 pre AP assessments similar to Free Response parts of the exam to use with your students at levels 3-5!
Check out some things I have shared on my blog here for free such as
1. The comprehensible slides
3. A fun game (similar to Guess Who) to play at the end of the unit where students describe the characters and their team mate needs to guess who it is.
4. A sequel prediction activity:
5. A ton of culture you can pre teach here!
This unit was designed for level 3 students and beyond. There are over 100 pages of materials that are sure to please your class! Use them all or choose what best suits your students!
Don't forget to see this post for the slides to accompany the unit.
