Students learn about free time activities of University Students in Mexico through very brief interviews with many different students and then talk and write about their own free time activity preferences in these activities.
Activity 1: Interpretive matching activity where students listen to interviews and match key activities to a picture of the person who said it
Activity 2: Students think about the content of what they heard and make connections to themselves through English comprehension questions
Activity 3: Students complete an interpretive and interpersonal activity by first answering questions about their free time preferences and then talking to a partner about them.
Activity 4: Students complete a presentational activity in which they take the information from activity 3 and write a paragraph about themselves to share with a classmate or the class aloud or turn in to the teacher.
These activities could be used as practice for an integrated performance assessment or could be the assessment itself.
