This is a very simplified notes and PowerPoint presentation for beginning weather with Spanish 1s.
My students are responding well to PowerPoint presentations with an accompanying notes page.
This presentation covers:
It's hot, It's cold, It's windy, It's sunny, It's cloudy, It's rainy, It's snowing, It's raining, Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, snow, rain, It's foggy, It's stormy, It's nice weather, It's bad weather, It's cool.
There are 20 terms in all. I designed the notes hand-out with boxes to allow the students to draw simple pictures of the weather terms, as opposed to just writing a definition. There are some sample drawings at the bottom of the hand-out to help them be creative.
There are 24 slides in the presentation. The questions are ¿Qué tiempo hace?, ¿Qué estación es? and ¿Qué es?
The 21 picture slides repeat after the initial presentation, this time without words to help the students review what they have learned.
I have also included a sample notes page. There is also a quick sample project the students can complete on the back of the notes page. The project unites the seasons, weather conditions, and months of the year.
