El gallo de la catedral is a colonial legend from Quito Ecuador. Before reading the legend with the class I like to have students answer: Where is Ecuador? Why is it named Ecuador? What is the capital of Ecuador? can someone locate Ecuador on the classroom map? Nice way to tie in geography with the legend.
The mini bundle contains:
PPT in PDF format with the text for the legend and images to facilitate comprehension:
El gallo de la catedral (Ecuador). After viewing PPT students work with a partner to write their own legends based on an architectural element found in their town (creative writing activity)
