This document was designed as a free writing prompt for students who are fairly comfortable with writing in the past tenses of Spanish. In this fun PowerPoint prompt, the students are told that they have awoken in an igloo with amnesia. In one pocket, they have a rock and four dollars. In the other pocket, they find a toothbrush. To add a bit of eerieness, there is a man on the other side of the igloo watching them. The students are then prompted to pick up the story at that point and write about what happens next in the past.
This document is editable, so you can adjust the timing and required word count based on your students’ own level. I use this for a level four class, so it’s preset at 125 words in 20 minutes. Since everyone grades freewrites/writing samples differently, I did not include any assessment tools. You may or may not allow for dictionary/resource usage. I simply want my students to write, so I provide a flat grade for making it to the minimum number of words. However, you can adapt the prompt to fit any type of graded or non-graded writing activity.
I hope you enjoy this product! Check out my store for more helpful tools as well as products for other levels of Spanish!
