This is an introduction for Spanish 1 or 2 students to the imperfect tense.
Students will first examine the different types of past tenses by seeing English sentences and analyze how they differ in meaning, although they are all past tenses.
Next students will learn the conditions for using the imperfect. Then they will learn the conjugations and triggers. Included are 2 slides with practices: 1) simple verb conjugations (nadar-yo, nadaba); 2) sentence translations (I used to swim every day, Nadaba todos los dÃas). Enforces the different uses and meanings of the imperfect tense.
Please see my verb study booklet that accompanies this presentation, along with the preterite vs. imperfect verb chart.
