New ZASCA games! What a fun way to practice conjugations!

With this game your students will be reviewing the preterit tense while having lots of fun. Make a game day, let them play cards. Use the cards as a game (two suggestions included), or use them as a review before a quiz/test.

This set of cards cover ALL, I mean ALL PRETERIT TENSE; regular, -car -gar -zar irregular, stem-changing, I-->Y, UV, U, I, J groups, ...

You get:

- 45 cards to conjugate

- 9 ZASCA cards

- 6 blank cards for you to write your own.

- Two different game suggestions.

- Answer key

The following instructions are included.

Suggested options:

1- Deck of cards:

Laminate and cut the cards so that you have a deck. Make as

many decks as you see necessary. (Print different sets in different

colors for easy storage).

Students may work in pairs or small groups. Each pair or group

will need a deck of cards and an answer key for reference, in case

they need to check the answer. Encourage students to check the

answer key as their last resource.

Place the cards upside down. Students take turns taking a card.

Each card has a subject pronoun and a verb that students have to

conjugate in the present subjunctive. If they conjugate it correctly

they keep the card. If they answer incorrectly the card must be put

back at the bottom of the pile.

If the students gets a ¡ZASCA!, they put all their cards back on

the pile. When all the cards are done, the student with more cards

wins the game.

(Variation: at the end of the game, each one of them gets as many points as cards

they have. Play different rounds and keep adding points).

2- Surprise bucket:

The rules are the same as above, but instead of playing as with

a deck of cards, print, cut and fold the cards and place them in a

large bag, bucket or lucky hat!
