Consisting of 18 Conexiones, each with 5 lessons, the VIF Spanish Language Arts course emphasizes reading, writing and speaking in the target language through the investigation of current global issues and by focusing on developing vocabulary and teaching specific Spanish grammar rules.
Our middle school Global Gateway curriculum is designed to provide you and your students with essential attitudes, skills and knowledge for global citizenship, while exploring the complexity of current global issues. Through embedded social entrepreneurship principles, it promotes an understanding of the student as an active participant in the world, with an important role and crucial responsibilities.
The curriculum is aligned to the Common Core Standards, P21 Standards - 21st Century Skills, National Educational Technology Standards, and Career Technical Education Standards and organized in the following six main themes: Global Society, Global Geography, Global Environment, Global Education, Global Economy, Global Politics.
"El relieve" is one of three in a Global Geography unit. Students will investigate the effect of geography on the distribution of people and resources worldwide, on world economies and on socio-cultural activities. Students will examine world regions and landforms, relating these concepts to selected social entrepreneurship regions of study. Students will also explore grammar concepts including: future tense, simple and compound sentences, preterite, gerunds, indefinite and demonstrative adjectives, and subjects and predicates.
1) What are the different landforms?
2) How do landforms impact a region?
3) How do I explore the effects of different landforms on a population, using the preterite tense?
