In this unique presentation students will practice finding the ending time when given a start time and elapsed time. The majority of problems include elapsed time 60 minutes and under; however, there are a few challenges that go over an hour. It is great for either an introduction or review of elapsed time (find the end time).
As this is scaffolded and there are several slides, this may take you more than one session to complete. It is entirely up to you and your kids how long you will need to work through the slides. You can, of course, skip around and repeat slides as needed.
This 103-slide presentation will help your kids count elapsed time by fives and tens. The clock will appear to move and change time as the kids count and as you click through the slides. It also provides basic time-telling practice as the kids need to be able to tell time in order to solve the problems.
There are several word problems as well as a few slides that help kids determine whether or not they should count by fives and/or tens to calculate the ending time.
Presentation includes word problems as well as simply stated elapsed time equations (start time - 4:25, elapsed time - 37 minutes, find the end time).
Challenge problems at the end of the presentation do not include moving clocks, so kids will do all calculations on their own.
