Elapsed time is a tricky skill for many students. These task cards can help by having students practice solving elapsed time problems by representing them on a number line (3.MD.1). Each of these 16 task cards contain 3-4 elapsed time problems; these questions vary to include finding the hours and/or minutes that have elapsed as well as finding the starting or ending time.
These task cards also build in difficulty, making them a versatile resource to accommodate all the learners in your class. For students who struggle with time, you can use the easier cards, while your other students can be challenged with the more difficult cards. This makes differentiation a snap. These task cards would make an excellent math center or would work as classwork/homework for several days.
