Review measuring time intervals in minutes and hours / time duration in digital time format with these elapsed time puzzles worksheets for math centers. These fun no prep printables make ideal activities for starters, review, early finishers, and homework. This packet includes five different Hidden Word / Spot the Mistakes puzzles (with answer keys) at various levels of difficulty, with the fifth puzzle focusing on converting between seconds, minutes, and hours. Please check the preview to see if these would provide a suitable challenge for your students. They suit a variety of grades or can provide progression in learning or differentiation within the same class.
Simply print and copy as required. Answer keys can be printed too so that students can self-check. Puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. Similar to codebreaker puzzles, a linked word is revealed after completing calculations. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a calculation and a letter. Students circle boxes containing errors. Then they assemble the letters from the circled boxes to reveal a linked word.
Students often forget or avoid checking their work so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work.
