These activities align with the Common Core State Standard 3.MD.A.1. There are four different activities you can do.

1. The main activity is used to help students practice elapsed time by getting up, moving, and interacting with each other. Each student receives a clock with a specific time on it. Then the music starts and they start moving/dancing around the room to Rock Around the Clock or other lively song. When the song stops,they partner up, record their own time, record their partner's time, and calculate the elapsed time between the two clocks. Then the music starts up again so the class can find new partners and new times to calculate.

This product includes the directions, two printable clock sets (a set to the five minutes and a set to the minute), printable recording sheets, and an independent practice worksheet to carry out this activity...

2. You can also use the clocks as flash cards.

3. Time Matching Game - Included are two additional sets of DIGITAL clocks (one set to the five minutes and one set to the minute) that correspond to the analog clocks in the first activity so that you can have the students play a matching game to practice telling time to the five minutes or to tthe minute. There is an independent practice worksheet for after this activity.

4. Last but not least, there are two sets of "I have, Who has?" cards, one to the five minutes and one to the minute.
