Description

Practice Elapsed Time without the confusion of story problems with these start-change-end Elapsed Time table task cards. These task cards practice elapsed time with unknowns in all positions. The first two sets of cards only include the end as the unknown time as that's the format included most often in curriculums and assessments. The third set includes unknowns in all positions. This allows you to see who has really mastered elapsed time, and is a great preface to word problems. Each set includes 36 Elapsed Time task cards.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:
• 2 sets of task cards with end unknown tables
• 1 set of task cards with unknowns in all positions
If the change is unknown, the answer key includes the time passed as 8:40 to represent 8 hours and 40 minutes.

Because these are Elapsed Time scenarios, students can use them to practice whatever strategy (z method, t method, backwards n method, open number lines, timelines, etc) works best for them. The scenario tables allow students to recognize if they are identifying how much time has passed, the time the event started, and the time the event ended. This allows students to master the skill before encountering them in word problems.
