Nothing but TIME!!!
If your students are like mine, elapsed time can be a challenging skill to learn and teach! This activity is meant to help with that very challenge!
Connecting real world events to elapsed time!!!
Using the airport arrivals and departures (minus any time changes :), your students will practice finding how long a flight will take using the airport arrival and departure board!
There are 3 different sets of flights so you can differentiate among your students' skill levels. Within each group are 12 different flights to use.
1 set is all to the hour elapsed time.
1 set is all to the hours and half hours elapsed time.
1 set is to the 5 minute intervals.
There is an Airport Flight Board Playing Mat that you will print out for your students to use to store their flights. Print as many as you would like to use. There are recording sheets for each along with corresponding answer keys!
Check out my other Elapsed Time Practice: From Start to Finish
for a reusable mat to work through finding the elapsed time as well as practice problems!
I hope this activity helps your students make a real world connection to needing to understand and identify elapsed time! :)
