Description
I have so much fun with this activity every year so I hope you will too! When I teach about the election process, I use this activity to prove that you really need to know more about a candidate than just the surface level of information.
Students start with a Google Docs file where they will get a brief bio of each mystery candidate including: Age, Education, and Career. They will then write an explanation in each box next to the mystery candidate explaining strengths and/or weakness of each candidate. Like I mentioned, this is a lot of fun and it really gets the kids excited to see if their candidate wins!
Mystery Candidates Included:
John F. Kennedy, Marie Curie, Donald Trump, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Adolf Hitler, Thomas Jefferson, Bernie Sanders, Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, and George Washington
Instructions are included for you to show how to set up a question in Google Classroom to easily calculate the winning candidate for each class before you submit the Google Slides file that reveals each candidate.
Lots of fun!
