Election Day: Let your students recognize Election Day by using this 8.5 x 11 poster (landscape) that focuses on election related topics.
Perfect for Election Day or use any time you are learning about the elections.
This poster will look great hanging outside your classroom and parents will enjoy reading them when they are sent home.
The Election Day poster activity has plenty of places for students to add their own creative touches with color.
The sections for the students to fill out are:
*place for name
*Why do we hold elections?
*List qualities or character trails you think a good candidate must have.
*Define the following words (you will need to provide a resource for them to define or maybe just have them recall)- vote, citizen, election, candidate, campaign
*What does it mean to be an informed voter, and how might you get information?
*Name the 3 levels of government.
*Do you think you would ever like to run for a government office? Why or why not?
*What does it mean to persuade someone?
*In what ways is persuasion used in elections?
*Imagine you are running for an elected government position. Create a mini campaign ad with a slogan.
Use as a center activity or even as morning work. Use it in your classroom however you would like.
