This is an interdisciplinary unit I put together for my 4th grade class for the 2012 election (actually it could be used with almost ANY election).

It is jam-packed with 21 learning standards (all from various subjects), 16 objectives, fun ideas to introduce the unit, a web showing the incorporation of music, art, and movement, 14 complete lesson plans (easily adapted to your classroom needs), ideas for culminating activities and assessment, a list of 20+ books about elections/voting, a list of 10+ election websites perfect for teachers, numerous extra activity ideas and printables (some with picture examples), exciting craft ideas, and even room decoration ideas and pictures.

This is a valuable resource if you plan on having your students study the election. :)

For other fun government lessons and activities-- please check out my mini-units about the Constitution and Declaration of Independence:
