In the Electric Charge and Current Worksheet students have the ability to scan a QR code with any mobile device (iPhone, android, tablet, etc) and watch a YouTube video related to the assignment. The Electric charge and current worksheet is short and is excellent as a follow up worksheet or part of a homework/classwork portfolio but does take that long to complete that it should be a stand alone for an entire class period. The QR code at the top of the assignment is linked to a video which covers the basics of electric charge and current. The video helps to increase the understanding of the concept and get a good start on the assignment. This is just one of many of the QR tutor video worksheets I have created which makes the assignments more engaging for today's students that are very invested in technology.
There are four advantages to this type of assignment vs. traditional worksheets:
#1.) Students can scan the QR code and get help from a couple videos which helps them get off to a better start on the worksheet.
#2.) If you are blessed to have students with parents that are involved in their education often the parents will scan the videos with their child and get started on the assignment together if it is assigned as homework.
#3.) Students love using technology, I allow my students to use their phones and tablets for all my assignments and labs which all have some QR code or technology integration.
#4.) The more QR coded assignments you use the less repetitive questions you will get as a teacher. Many of the questions students have are answered by the video which students scan and watch. Less repetitive questions as a teacher will help free up your time to intervene and enrich with more students.
*I have been doing QR coded assignments for my students for some time now and the students vastly prefer them to traditional worksheets/assignments/homework. I hope you find this product useful.
