Description
This is the 27th in a series of 50+ Hands on Labs.
With this lab we introduce voltage to the circuits and require students to calculate not only Resistance but Voltage, Current, and Power. The concept of "What do I know about this circuit?" (Given), "What can I calculate?" (Calculate), "How else can I gather information?" ( Measure ), and finally, "What does the Theory tell me about the circuit?" (Theory ). The table asks them to simply put the words in each box as to how they will solve for each of the unknowns. Using DC for the power supply, ( 9v battery ), and the direction of the current flow being important. A Pre-requisite for this lab is an understanding of how to use a multi-meter to measure Voltage and Current.
