This test is based on the Georgia 5th grade standards for physical science. It includes 16 questions on static electricity, simple circuits, conductors/insulators and electromagnets. There are an additional 4 performance based questions, which can be used as part of the test or as a separate grade. The test includes a variety of question types in order allow students to show true mastery of the material.
Georgia 5th Grade Science Standards covered:
S5P3 Students will investigate the electricity, magnetism and their relationship.
a. Investigate static electricity
b. Determine the necessary components for completing an electric circuit.
c. Investigate common materials to determine if they are insulators or conductors of electricity.
d. Compare a bar magnet to an electromagnet.
I have used this test successfully with my students over the past several years with outstanding success. Online review games and resources to help students prepare for the test(s) are available for free at www.jonathanfeicht.com.
