If you're anything like me, it's difficult to find textbook readings that are accessible for your students. Thus, often times I find myself writing readings for them instead. Here, I've done the leg work for you by writing this short reading on electromagnetic induction. The reading is written at about a 5th grade reading level, making it easy to assign as a homework or independent work in class. It includes images of electromagnetic induction as well as text dependent questions to test student knowledge at the end. This short reading will help your students better understand where their electricity comes from and the principles behind electromagnetic induction. I find that writing my own readings in this way has immensely helped my special education students and ELLs.
