Product Description
This is an 800 slide PowerPoint presentation with built-in class notes (red slides), challenge questions with answers, built-in quizzes, video links, projects, four page homework, 9 pages of classwork sheets that follow slideshow, answer keys, lesson notes, and PowerPoint review games (150+ slides) with answers, and much more.

This lesson bundle has students learn about waves and then one by one covers the waves on the electromagnetic spectrum in detail.

The PowerPoint roadmap begins describing what a particle is using a series of slides and a shade technique to present only one piece of information at a time. Waves are addressed with a definition. The class is encouraged to do a stadium style wave just to get pumped up a bit about studying waves. The three types of waves are described as are parts of a wave in a step by step approach. Students are then presented a series of challenges to identify the correct part of a wave shown on the screen. The activity repeats a few times so everyone can get a chance to demonstrate understanding. Light is then described, followed by refraction and diffraction. A small activity has students observe refraction in a glass filled with water and a pencil. Lenses are then described (convex and concave) Focal Points are described with some challenge based slides. Students then participate in a number of challenge questions to identify the convex, and concave lens / mirrors. Nearsightedness and farsightedness are described and a series of challenge questions are provided. Various lenses are covered including polarized lenses. The PowerPoint then addresses the Electromagnetic Spectrum. A series of challenge questions examine how the size of the wavelength determines its strength. A link to a really great movie (requires .mov is provided about the Electromagnetic Spectrum and its uses) EM waves are covered and what can happen to radiation (scattered, absorbed, reflected) is presented. All of the waves in the electromagnetic spectrum are covered in detail and questions / uses are provided. An activity with visible light and a link to a video about ROY G. BiV is provided. Another neat activity with laundry detergent and a blacklight (U/V) are provided. A neat Laser series of slides and activity are also provided including a solid understanding to the acronym LASER. A few more challenge questions about the EM spectrum are provided before the students take a PowerPoint quiz. Students need to name the correct wave in the EM Spectrum from a picture. The answers are provided after the quiz. The question is previewed before the answer is revealed so the teacher call upon students. This is a really neat PowerPoint that challenges students every step of the way. When they learn something, they will need to demonstrate it. See my entire unit described below before purchasing this PowerPoint.

This PowerPoint includes critical notes (Red Slides), exciting visuals, challenge questions, activities with directions and more. Text is usually placed at the top of the slide so it can be read from all angles of a classroom. Color coded slides, as well as a shade technique is used to increase student focus and allows the teacher to control the pace of the lesson. These PowerPoints are meant to be interactive as possible and ask many questions, provides built in review opportunities, explains directions to activities, and much more. Transition effects are never used.
