This is an activity for teams of students. Each team selects, draws, or is assigned one of the 7 electromagnetic wave types. They then must research and learn about their specific electromagnetic wave. There are specific areas where they must concentrate their research. After gathering their info and recording on their sheet they must assemble a poster (made on white chart paper). During construction there are specific roles for each student so the accountability for the final product is on each student! I usually have these already made for each team so they are all about the same size and it saves time. This usually will take up to 2 class periods between research and poster creation. A third class period is used for a gallery walk type activity where student rotate around the room in their teams to view and gather information about each type of electromagnetic wave and record it on the back of their the sheet so now they have info on all 7 wave types. I give teams about 5 minutes to gather the info from each poster and also provide feedback on a sticky note (different and specific from all other that came before them). You can have the posters on tables or taped up around the room, down a hallway or however you want.
