A standalone, fully resourced, lesson on electromagnets. Would be suitable for upper middle school or as part of an introductory high school physics course.

The lesson includes opportunity for students to practically build their own electromagnet and investigate the factors that affect the strength of an electromagnet. If you want to do this activity you will need: A variable power supply, copper wire, wooden doweling and iron rods.
