This is a handy handout and/or poster showing different types of lines that we make in art! Great for elementary classrooms.
This worksheet shows examples of the following lines: straight, horizontal, diagonal, vertical, curvy, zig-zag, wavy, curly, spiral, dotted, thick, thin, bumpy, hatched & cross hatched.
The girl is saying, "Line is an element of art! We are going to use lines when we draw, so let's take a look at how different lines can be."
You can have this as a free download to start the year. I like to start with the element of line early in the school year, especially with the little guys in KG - 2nd grade.
Check out the complementary practice sheet for how to draw these lines here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Drawing-Different-Lines-Worksheet-for-Elementary-Art-Class-K-2nd-1960462
This is a 2-page worksheet that allows students to first trace each line, then practice drawing it on their own. This can be printed and copied as a double sided paper so you don't waste two sheets of paper.
