These lessons introduce students to the elements of art focusing on line and shapes and differences between them. Geometric and Organic shapes are also a focus. Paul Klee is our featured artist. After learning about these two elements, students use their newly acquired knowledge of line and shape to create a painting inspired by Klee's Castle and Sun.
This lesson was created for 2nd grade and includes NGSSS standard for that grade level, but can be incorporated for other grade levels by changing the standards, LG, and Scales.
As with all of my lessons, Marzano's DQs have been included in this lesson. Several links to Klee's Art put to music have been included to really set the atmosphere in your classroom. My students love creating while music is playing.
My teaching schedule allows me to see each class once a week. The teaching duration reflects this schedule. Thanks for stopping by my store. Please let me know if you have any questions.
