Delaunay-inspired Color Mixing Tissue Paper Collage
Art with Mrs. Nguyen
In this lesson your students will review what they already know about the primary and secondary colors by completing a hands-on color mixing activity and worksheet. Then students will examine the work of French abstract artist Robert Delaunay. Inspired by his use of abstract figures and color, students will create a colorful tissue paper collage using only primary colored tissue paper (tissue must be correctly layered to create the secondary colors).
*Includes worksheet, animated Powerpoint, color-mixing video clip, and lesson.
Black Construction Paper (9”x12”)
Tissue Paper (red, yellow, and blue)
Plastic Surface to work on (I use posterboard or cardboard covered with transparency paper)
