This is a great drawing and painting lesson for elementary students that focuses on what a landscape is and what the components of a landscape are. This lesson starts off with students viewing examples of landscapes and discussing the parts of a landscape including the horizon line, foreground, middle ground and background. Also included are step-by-step instructions (with illustrations) for drawing a lovely landscape! There are sample questions included at the end of the lesson that are suggested to be used as a review / wrap - up of the lesson. There is also a printable landscape quiz sheet that can be given to students to complete independently (great way to assess students understanding of the art vocabulary used in this lesson). I've also included some wonderful student samples that were created by some of my first and second grade students! Everything that you need to teach a great landscape lesson is included here! It can be printed, projected or teacher can follow the lesson and do the step-by-step drawings on a whiteboard for students to see. I hope that you enjoy this lesson!
