Teach your students to weave the fun and easy way. This listing includes two paper plate weaving activities (circular weave and a tree weave) as well as a bonus full color step by step direction page for making kumihimo bracelets. I find that the bracelet is a good transitional activity for early finishers who enjoy weaving. Each project is broken into two separate plans. One is setting up the loom and includes step by step images. These are my original design and may be photocopied as needed by the teacher. The second lesson is for creating the weaving. I've included a pattern you can print for measuring the spaces on the paper plate looms to get perfect spacing every time. One for each project (tree and circular).
Lessons are professionally formatted and include the elements of effective instruction: anticipatory set, objectives, national art standards, guided instruction, closure and more. A great way to jump into fibers with your 1st-6th grade students.
I have also included an intro to weaving powerpoint that I use successfully with my own students. If you have any questions please ask before purchasing. Lesson plans are included as word docs so that you may adjust to fit your own district template if needed.
