I LOVE integrating art with other standards. This Third Grade unit was created to encompass standards from science and art and you will notice science and art go hand in hand. Math can also easily be incorporated into this lesson during the bubble experiment.
As you go through the presentation, you will notice there are many opportunities to add in additional art lessons (standards) not listed in my presentation. Although this unit is complete for instruction, I would suggest using these slides as your guide through the unit and adding your own creative teaching methods to create the ultimate learning experience for your students. This file was saved in power point and is editable for you.
Some of the included vocabulary:
As always, Marzano's DQ's have been included in the presentation, but if you don't need those feel free to take them out. :-)
Sherlock Holmes is my class theme this year, and we are investigating artists to learn about the different styles throughout history. If this does not work with your classroom feel free to take that part out too.
My teaching schedule allows me to see each class once a week. The teaching duration reflects this schedule. It took us about 7 weeks to cover this entire unit. Coordinating units for each elementary grade level are also available.
Thanks for stopping by my store. Please let me know if you have any questions.
