Product Description
Use these great activities to introduce the properties of solids and melting, the phase change from solid to liquid.

Why buy this unit?
♦ A lesson overview video gets you started with a preview of the activities, materials, and resources. It's like I'm sitting next to you explaining your options.

♦ Unit resources like five videos of the activities and five teacher presentations make it easy to present the activities to the unique students we find in our classrooms each day.

♦ Two student texts saved in two different reading levels, blackline or color images, with English or Spanish.

♦ Audio recordings of the texts in both English and Spanish are included for students who benefit from hearing the text.

♦ Four assessment suggestions (with suggested answers) give you choices when assessing your students.

♦ A web site created just for this unit provides additional information and resources.

The activities use materials* that you can collect or you can buy a materials kit.

This unit is part of a series about chemistry including: particles, this product, liquids, cohesion, physical change, and chemical change.

These activities could be part of a series of lessons that meet NGSS 2-PS1-1♦ or 5-PS1-3◊.
