* Materials List

Activity 1) pencils, clay, construction paper, aluminum foil, a scrap of fabric, a piece of sandpaper, a paperclip

Activity 2) paperclips, staples, pencil, crayon, and scissors for the introduction. Each team needs a collection of common materials like a bell, a coin, a math counter, a rubber band, etc.

Activity 3) ice cubes, a piece of wood, a metal pan

♦ 2-PS1-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to describe and classify different kinds of materials by their observable

properties.

◊ 5-PS1-1. Develop a model to describe that matter is made of particles too small to be seen.
