I have created this powerpoint to coincide with elementary level geography.
Included is a over 40 geographic terms used at the elementary level, specifically: grade 4. However, the vocabulary here transcends elementary grades:
(Vocabulary: bay, bluff, border, canal, canyon, channel, cliff, coast, compass rose, continent, delta, desert, evaporate, fall line, foothills, forest, geography, globe, Great Salt Lake, gulf, harbor, hill, island, lake, map key, map symbols, mesa, mountain, mountain range, ocean, peak, peninsula, plain, plateau, ... and MORE!)
Word Strips (headings) (colorful) or Bulletin Board Headings, Word Wall Words with illustrations.
Word/ Task cards (black and white) to be printed front and back for review with the words included in definition on back.
Word/Task Cards (black and white) to be printed separately WITHOUT vocabulary words include with the definitions to play a game of, "I Have, Who Has.." Cards can be handed out to students, and some students will receive the vocabulary word, others the definitions.. I played a game of ping pong... start with one student who reads their card, the student with the matching card (either definition or term) responds... until all cards distributed have been reviewed.
These cards (either set) can be place in centers to be used throughout the year.
Study guide of all terms to be printed or displayed on white board for note taking, test making.
