This is an amazing "Choose Your Own Adventure" story that allows the teacher or counselor to create their own story with details allowing for students' success and progression. It puts children in the roles of rabbits, lions, eagles, gorillas and others so that they may play out they may play out the story as animal characters. The second key concept is that, as the story unfolds, students are given tangible items that help to identify their character (i.e. a mask for an animal or a piece of yarn for some strong rope). Educators may also use the story to work in any specific things they want their students to practice (i.e. responsibility, friendship, or courage against a bully).
