This is an amazing "Choose Your Own Adventure" story that allows the teacher or counselor to create their own story with details allowing for students' success and progression. It puts children in the roles of a little girl/boy with an anger problem, monsters who are afraid of this child, and others so that they may play out the fantasy as characters in the story. The second key concept is that, as the story unfolds, students are given tangible items that help to identify their character (i.e. monster masks). Educators may also use the story to work in any specific things they want their students to practice (i.e. responsibility, friendship, or courage against a bully).
