Looking for sub plans for the music classroom? Want to lessen your stress and anxiety when you or a family member is sick? This product has ready-to-use lesson plans for the elementary music classroom. The lesson plans can be taught by ANY substitute teacher--even those without musical experience! No need to scramble to write sub plans when you or your loved ones are sick...this packet includes enough sub plans for about two weeks (depending on how often you see your students.)

This product includes:

*13 lesson plans {3 for Kindergarten, 4 for first grade, 4 for second grade, 5 for third grade, 4 for fourth grade, and 5 for fifth grade--most of the lesson plans are written for more than one grade.} Lessons state objectives, materials, process, and national music standards met. Many of them are linked to the Common Core standards. Lesson plans come in PDF form and in Word so you can edit and adapt them as needed! Each lesson plan includes singing, instrument playing, listening, writing, and/or children's literature. Lesson titles include: "Apple Tree Stations," "Be a composer," "Carnival of the Animals," "Instrument Stations," "Music fortune teller," "My favorite piece of music," "Nutcracker comparison," "Speak, Sing, and Dance," "Elephants and Lions," "Jazz Fly," "America the Beautiful," and "Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra." Download the preview for more specific information. Please note that a few of the lessons do require technology (such as a LCD projector, access to YouTube, etc.) but most of them do not.

*Accompanying materials, such as mp3's, slideshows, worksheets, etc.: Please note that for copyright reasons, I can only include two recordings--one for "1, 2, 3, 4, 5," and one for "Apple Tree." The other recordings will have to be purchased or found in your own music library.

*Notes from the substitute teacher: Editable document that you can print for your sub to leave detailed notes

*Sub plan checklist: A table for each grade level, so you can keep track of which class has done which lesson

*Sub lesson plan template

*Editable sub tub information packet: A packet of information for your sub to fill out, with pages for daily schedules, school information, etc.

For the editable documents, you will either need to download the free fonts here, or change the font. Please note that a few of the sub plans do require purchase of materials, such as picture books and/or mp3's (which due to copyright, I couldn't include.)

Read some of the reviews:

"THANK YOU! I have struggled so much coming up with activities for a non-musical sub to do. This is so much better than having my kids watch Fantasia or Lomax the Hound every time I'm out. They love watching them, but it doesn't really accomplish anything. I'm so excited to put these in my sub folders!"

"These plans are wonderful! It is nice knowing that I am able to leave sub plans that my sub can teach successfully."

"Saves me SO much time getting prepped for a sub before school started this year. Never been so easy!"
