When I began teaching elementary Spanish, one of my greatest challenges was finding songs that were both comprehensible and engaging for my students. This is a list of more than 30 of my favorite elementary songs. Most of the songs on this list include links to YouTube videos. Several of the songs are not on YouTube, so I included a link to the album in the iTunes store.
This list will continue to grow as I discover more songs. To find out if I have added more songs, go to the "free downloads" tab in "My purchases". Scroll down until you find the name of this product. If it has been revised, there will be a notice in red text that says "Recently revised download".
If you know of a great song that's not on this list, please leave a comment below! I am always looking for more music for my classes.
Lyrics posters are included for each of the songs. Some suggestions for using the posters:
1) Project them on the board while students are singing the song. It is much easier for my older elementary students to learn the songs when they can read the words!
2) Hang some of the posters on the wall of your classroom.
3) Print out multiple posters and make a "lyrics book" to add to your classroom library. Students can choose to read the lyrics book during silent reading time.
I hope your students enjoy these songs as much as mine have!
