It's time to have a place to keep EVERYTHING. This Excel spreadsheet has been designed for Elementary teachers to keep records, but to also have a profile of your class ready for reporting period.
Each page has room for recording regular assessment data. This data can then be finalized by the teacher with a final/total grade being assigned to that student with each of the subject strands.
Once all the totals/overall marks have been decided, they are automatically set to copy into the Master Page. This Master is what you will want to print as you head into reporting periods, or even for Parent/Teacher conferencing. This is a full profile of all subjects, including learning skills, for your entire class!
Print it off, and away you go!
In our board, there is nothing "ready made" like this for teachers, which is why I have put in the hours to set up this simplified solution. Yes, simplified. It is meant to be easy to use, but to provide a wonderful organizational solution for assessment collection.
Total grades are NOT weighted or averaged, as we often do not calculate our assessments this way in elementary schools.
When clearing data, be sure to "clear contents" and NOT delete. Using delete can erase determined formats, however the privacy is set to protect these details. Once you download the file for your own use, you can modify it/tailor it to your specific needs, but I believe it is ready to go. It took me 12 years, but I have finally figured out a simple solution to a big problem. This saves me hours when I am finalizing my term assessments to communicate to parents and also do report cards.
