This study guide/review covers all about the atom and what it is made of. It also covers some physical properties like solubility and luster and Chemical properties like flammability and toxicity. It touches on states of matter (even plasma). It also allows students to take a molecule and break down how many atoms it has, and how many elements are in that molecule given the formula: H20. That will also be tested on the atomic number and understanding the periodic table.
Reviews are a great way to integrate learning and FUN! I've used these games in the past:
- basketball review (if you get the question correct your team gets a chance to shoot)
- Connect 4 (if you answer the question correctly your team gets to place a sticky note on the graph - usually 5 x6 depending on how many teams you have - and the goal is to connect 4 before any of the other teams)
- Grudge Ball (each team is given 10 x's on the board. Once a team answers correctly they get a chance to shoot, if they make it they may erase 2 x's from the board, if they miss they may only erase 1 x. The team with the most x's at the end of the game wins. If a team looses all 10 x's they have to make a shoot in order to gain 2 x's to be back in the game)
