Emotion of Line Description:
The next lesson probes further in the communication of visual arts by having the students create line designs that convey an emotion. The presentation takes them through line animations and design examples that communicate feeling. The students then create 4 thumbnails with worksheet provided based on four emotions, re-create their best emotion design onto the final composition and evaluate themselves on how well they were able to convey the emotion in their designs.

Rhythm of Line Description:
This lesson students how to create rhythm, pattern, variety and movement in line designs, using Zentangle patterns as a jumping off point. Students will create thumbnail designs, use those thumbnails to create a final design on their first composition and then self-evaluate based on the criteria of rhythm, pattern, variety and movement.

Shape and Emphasis Description:
This Lesson describes the element of shape and the principle of emphasis through the use of artist's work and how they create emphasis in their work. Students will create thumbnail designs each showing emphasis using a different method; Placement, Direction/Movement, Size and Color. They will then use those thumbnails to create a final composition cut from paper. Students will self-evaluate based on the criteria creating emphasis using the 4 methods described above.

Intro to Kandinsky and Music and Art Lesson Description:
Students learn to use the emotion of line, shape and color to create abstract artwork while listening to 4 different forms of music.
Many abstract artisits including Wassily Kandinsky, the father of abstract art, used music to create their artwork and Kandinsky's art is used as a jumping off point.

Culminating Oil Pastel Lesson Description:
Students create a black and white composition using the set of instructions included in the powerpoint. Even though they are all using the same instructions, each design will come out differently. Using oil pastels and black markers students then use their knowledge of color schemes, line and shape type and other elements of art to create principles of art in their design. For the assessment students will define color schemes used and describe elements that were used to create principles of art.
