This always feel like an afterthought to teach--oh yeah-- the Elements in the 4 Spheres of Earth! Well, let's combine it with the trouble students have getting information and DATA from text and graphics! Here it is--Elements in Earth's 4 Spheres Self- Directed DataLAB!
YOU DO NOTHING! Either place one copy of the Text page on every table or group, or even simply project it for reading. It is short and simple. I have also included the Greek/Roman ROOTs for the 4 Spheres names-- big words that mean something they already know-- Lithosphere, Biosphere, Atmosphere, and Hydrosphere. Once they learned these-- they recognized them everywhere-- "Hydroelectric Dam? That's WATER!, Mrs Smalley!!" They are the keys to their success throughout school and even SAT testing.
They will take the DATA from the sentences, put them into T-charts for each Sphere on an illustrated Color Page. Then, they can compare all 4 Spheres, by making one main T-chart. YES! Everything we are and know and touch our whole lives is made of around 5-7 Elements!!! Then, they can graph them on Pie Charts/Circle Graphs.
I have also included a blank color page, maybe for a minibook cover? I also put in a sample of my Elements GraphiQ Explain Frame- differentiated level 2. These are all from my Periodic Table: Elements, Compounds, Metals 3 wk SUPERSET. Thank you for your interest, and be sure to check back for new things, as I'm posting new things all the time! Or simply follow me for automatic updates when I post something NEW.
