Make teaching the ELEMENTS of ART fun and easy with this set of sketchbook activities. Just print and go…
Sketchbook activities to introduce young artists to some of the concepts of line, color, shape, value, form, space, and texture. For these art lessons, I've designed 3 pages that can be cut apart and pasted into a sketchbook with activities and prompts for other sketchbook drawings and experimentation.
These activities can be taught all at once or one by one as a precursor to various other art lessons throughout the school year. When I used them, I used 1/2 page for each art class at the beginning of the year. I then had my students do an Op Art lesson to put the elements into practice to create an optional illusion. You can find art lesson plans for my Op Art and the Elements of Art
in my TPT store.
