Give the typical student a piece of paper and they will usually draw very small, leaving lots of white space. Being mindful in their mark making abilities will help children think about how their choices affect, not only their artwork but will benefit in other areas: their handwriting will be better, neatness improves, and they will naturally think outside the box rather than creating the typical scribble scrabble writing you undoubtedly see every day.
These five lessons and companion work pages gently encourage children to think for themselves. Plus they are a whole lot of fun - they won't realize they are learning lifelong concepts! Exercises average from 20 minutes to an hour and only simple materials are required - no mess!
